The tour starts at Lake Giacopiane dam – an artificial reservoir that provides water for the valleys below – and ascends along paths and dirt roads with the possibility of reaching the Mount Aiona summit (at 1740 metres) or walking along the path below it.

Climbing Mount Aiona you will find a ‘lunar’ landscape, an immense meadow dotted with rocks. From here the view is extraordinary, you can easily see the sea and, on clear days, the Tuscan islands and the coast of Corsica.

The descent begins along a beautiful path that almost entirely retraces the ancient Ligurian mountain route. The landscape is enchanting, the beech forests colours change according to the time of year, and the majestic pine forests accompany us to the Laghi delle Agoraie nature reserve.

The route ends on single track along a beautiful natural path that descends with a view of Lake Giacopiane.

A tour completely immersed in nature, far from the noise and smog of the city. Along the route you will find many scenic viewpoints and some natural springs where you can drink pure water; with a bit of luck, you may encounter the Aveto wild horses, the only autochthonous wild type in Italy.
